A DISH OF ICE CREAM

A DISH OF ICE CREAM

A 10 year old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him. “How much is an ice cream sundae?” “50 cents,” replied the waitress. The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied a number of coins in it.

“How much is a dish of plain ice cream?” he inquired. Some people were now waiting for a table and the waitress was a bit impatient. “35 cents,” she said brusquely. The little boy again counted the coins. “I’ll have the plain ice cream,” he said.

The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and departed.

When the waitress came back, she began wiping down the table and then swallowed hard at what she saw.
There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were 15 cents – her tip.

Moral: Don’t judge others solely on appearance. Take the time to get to know a person’s heart and their character. You are the one who might be changed.

THE CROSS

THE CROSS

The young man was at the end of his rope. Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy a cross to bear." The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear it's weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then open another door and pick any cross you wish."

The man was filled with relief. "Thank you, Lord," he sighed, and did as he was told. As he looked around the room he saw many different crosses; some so large the tops were not visible. Then he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall.

"I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered. And the Lord replied, "My son, that's the cross you brought in."

Whatever you are going through right now, know that you are not alone — nor are you the only person on this earth who is experiencing what you are experiencing right now. Everybody messes up, and sometimes people hurt the ones they love. Everybody hurts.

When life problems seem overwhelming, it helps to look around and see what others are having to endure. Then you may see for yourself that you are more fortunate than you realized.

Casting your entire burden upon Him

"Casting your entire burden upon Him; for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

It is a happy way of soothing sorrow when we can feel--"HE cares for me."; come, cast your burden upon your Lord. You are staggering beneath a weight which your Father would not feel. What seems to you a crushing burden would be to Him but as the small dust of the balance.

O child of suffering, be patient; God has not passed by you .He who is the feeder of sparrows, will also furnish you with what you need. Don’t sit in despair; hope on, hope ever. Take up the arms of faith against a sea of trouble, and your opposition shall yet end your distresses.

There is One who cares for you. His eye is fixed on you, His heart beats with pity for your woe, and his hand omnipotent shall yet bring you the needed help. The darkest cloud shall scatter itself in showers of mercy. The blackest gloom shall give place to the morning. He, will bind up your wounds, and heal your broken heart. Doubt not His grace because of your tribulation, but believe that He loves you as much in seasons of trouble as in times of happiness.

What a serene and quiet life might you lead if you would leave providing to the God of providence! With a little oil in the jar, and a handful of floor in the barrel, Elijah outlived the famine, and you will do the same. If God cares for you, why don’t you care too? Can you trust Him for your soul, and not for your body? He has never refused to bear your burden. He has never fainted under their weight. Come, then, soul!, and leave all thy concerns in the hand of a gracious God. He cares for you

ANGER

ANGER

While a man was polishing his new car, his 6year old son picked up stone and scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the child’s hand and hit it many times, not realizing he was using a wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father….. With painful eyes he asked, Dad when will my fingers grow back. The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times devastated by his own actions.

Sitting in front of the car, he looked at the scratch the child had written LOVE YOU DAD. The next day the man committed suicide.

Anger and love have no limits. Choose the later to have a lovely life. Remember things are to be used and people are to be loved.
